Was listening to the pointless version of David Live in the car this morning - the one with the missing songs - only to find that there was a gap of just under a second at 57 seconds in Rock And Roll With Me.

Just my copy, or is this normal?

Don't blame me, I didn't do it!

Are you sure you weren't playing the edited single version from the Re-Call2 album?

Now why would I mix those up??  And it's a straightforward gap of 0.7 seconds...

Hi Steve I just played my copies on the laptop and there are no gaps in mine, also played on a stand alone Blu-Ray and again no gap.

Is it anything to do with the car stereo maybe ???

Ripped it and opened it in Goldwave.  Definitely a gap.  Will get a return!

Thanks chaps.

Steve, the stream on Spotify doesn't have a gap either.

shame someone was buying it for me as a gift so I've never bought

My pressing flaw looks bad all the discs are silver  8o

disc are marked "manufactured by optimal media GmbH" and correct numbered on pressing side
not badly put together for a counterfeit if it is

label side had on some just Bowie - D Dogs, Live
not David Bowie as artist like rest
DBX2 numbering etc all correct

I've not heard or can find anything about silver only gold disc

the fakes are out there unless there's been a silver disc release

anyone else heard anything

Had a refund on mine.  Bought on eBay from China, so clearly a pirate.  There was also a gap in 1984 on the full-length David Live.

I was lucky enough to find out supplier went to the NZ online store was one I buy books from so they helped me out and gave me contact details as they have overseas vendors selling through them and it's come from one of them
told them my eyesights bad but can't even see a tinge of gold colour just pure silver
Want me to contact them to see what they say, They expect Genuine to been sent out to it's customers.

Box set std NZ price $259 at record store, online store was $160 comes X UK or US but not available these pirates selling for $110 come from Singapore

I've just received both box sets from a seller in China.

The "Who Can I Be Now" has silver discs and the same fault described above with David Live.
The card gatefold sleeves are a bit warped on the inside.
Other sleeves look just fine, but annoyingly some of the inserts are missing (lyric sheets, inner sleeves etc)
Live in Nassau has the name of artist as "Diamond Dogs" on the spine instead of "David Bowie".
The book is perfect, as is the box itself.

As far as I can tell, the Five Years set looks identical to the genuine article.
Gold discs, all the inserts included, quality card sleeves properly folded, glossy and matt where appropriate.  There is a visible white paper edge on the spine of ZS soundtrack gatefold.
Don't know if this is usual/standard.
No other presentation errors, great looking book.
Unfortunately, a couple of the corners of the box itself have been slightly impacted in transit.
Haven't listened to any of the discs yet.

I got them both very cheap - around £20 each if I factor in a special topcashback promotion.
So it's probably more trouble than it's worth to send WCIBN back for a refund, since I'd need to pay return shipping and I'd lose out on cashback for that one.

Optimal are one of the biggest replication plants in the EU. They know their job too.
Checking my CD box, mine are all gold but with different hub numbers, which is probably the only way to check. If you can have a squint at the inside of the CD and jot down the 2 hub numbers on each one I will tell you if they match mine

My IFPI code is L573 and matches what is on the discogs site for the Europe version at
https://www.discogs.com/David-Bowie-Who-Can-I-Be-Now-1974-1976/release/9093023
Mould codes are all but illegible, but these look like Optimal Germany

This is definitely a pirate copy from China. Also had one of these briefly but the minute I received it and opened the package I knew it was fake. Box too small for the CD sleeves, only silver discs.
Whether they have correct matrix numbers or factory IDs is totally irrelevant.

Seems I have picked up a fake too. Disc 2 of David Live (Original Mix) doesn't play in my CD player, but plays on my PC and Blu-Ray player. However, when I ripped it through CD-Ex no match was found when connecting to freedb or Musicbrainz. I ripped the track in question and there is no gap.

Paypal have refunded me, by the way.
