OH! still disapointed with the "new" Stage version...nice we have Jean Genie and Suffragette but why oh why no Rebel??...doesnt make any sense....and to go further why no promoters anoucement prior to the start of the show or the band intro....they used Jean Genie from Boston why not Rebel??...very poor.
Any others as dissapointed or is it just Me!

I keep going back and listening to the Anniversary remix of Stage by visconti on CD.
I think it was 2009? I'll have to check. Apparently you could even buy it on DVD-A?

I just loved it when it came out, and I never ripped it and looked at the WAV files or anything, but it sounds great. I have yet to order the ANCIANT high res files, but I probably will. The CD version sounds great, but I prefer the Stage Discs. I think I have the Ryko Stage around here... I wonder how it compares?

I actually think the whole boxset other than the Lodger remix is crap. My first pressing vinyls sound better.

The Hi-Res of the’ANCIANT’ sounds superb. Initially only available in 96/24 they are now available in 192/24. ‘Low’ is available as a stand alone now too.

Also worth noting: unlike the tracks added to Stage in 2005, "The Jean Genie" and "Suffragette City" don't appear to be new mixes from multitracks, but rather 2-track stereo mixes made back in 1978. This is why they don't have remixing credits in the liner notes, and have unusual mixes (in the case of "Suffragette City";).

This makes me think RCA wasn't recording complete Stage shows, and may have never taped "Rebel Rebel", for example. Remember, one of the "rules" of Stage is that it wouldn't repeat anything that had already appeared on David Live - this rule is only finally broken with the 2017 Stage. So the only way "Rebel Rebel" appears on Stage someday is if they have a good fidelity stereo recording, a la "The Jean Genie" and "Suffragette City", that can be included.

I would tend to disagree with that,they had 4 shows all of those shows contained Rebel in the set...they could have used 1 of them or jion a couple together at least!....but agree Suffragette is a unusaul mix!
