I stick with it.  What would have been great would have been a box set of the full gigs of the four or five concerts that went into Stage.  They must be there in the archives.

I understand completly when "Stage" was first released it was not possible to fit 24 songs on to a double LP....But they will fit easy onto 2xCD....so why not?

I think record-industry-Ceo's :bomb  do not work there because they want to do us fans some favor, but only to rise their income. So why not hold something back, we will surely buy any remains any time later....or don't we ?

I can't understand the moaning regarding these box sets because, in general, that isn't their aim, and they haven't included much 'unreleased' material at all from the first set, and what has been released are mostly 'new' mixes of old material, so not really unreleased as such, and that is because they are obviously designed to be a mop up, more aimed at the casual fan with holes in their collection, or the many new fans that have discovered the Dame over the last few years. In essence they are multi disc 'as released' sets with the odd new mix or 'new to CD' tag applied here and there.
For the likes of many, if not all, of us, these are just nicely boxed collections. For me personally, I buy them because, for the first time, it has made the core albums available in HR audio.
No doubt in the future there will be 'archive' sets, like the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, etc, have been releasing over the years, because the demand is there for it. But until all the 'as released' sets are done, this is all we are going to get.

I disagree - I don't think these kid of box sets for the casual fan at all.
They're about the person who has been a fan for a long time, who has a become a collector & who has to have every variation & which goes way beyond someone who loves the music and simply has to have a new luscious box irrespective of new music inside.
The record companies have long enjoyed exploiting collectors' obsessions.

Me, I'm happy with FLAC but it doesn't mean I don't love the music just as much.
But I don't give shit about product.
