So, not strictly closing but what's happened here. Things were going up, nice things some of them, and now nothing!!
What's happened to the BowStat releases they seem to have ground to a halt? I thought there was "hundreds" of them

I understand that Bowie passing away and nothing new being released means not much to talk about but there is nothing here now!

This lady is crying in her milk over these sites going to ruin!

One of them days when you wish sometimes, you kept your trap shut, and never made that comment!

I have been asking for years for all who have to share what they have before they can no longer.

There is little point in asking the small few who at times upload other artists and I believe are sadly helping to keep this site ticking over to stop doing so, because it should only be bowie uploads, I think if we wait for bowie uploads the site could implode with the lack of activity.

These thought provoking issues will come to a head at some point and I guess that will be that.
Here today and gone tomorrow.

We can all take from here and not share, just take our Bowie precessions with us to our grave. (Job done)

We cannot ask or expect people who spend and invest large amounts of their time and money and I am sure get hours of pleasure in doing so to give what they have away free, but if you use this site, it would be nice to share something back.

This site I guess will be the last of its kind, I thought when David passed the fans would at long last start to unleash the arsenal of bowie goodies they have to offer, In said we see prices going through the roof and already where back to uploads we started to see before 2013 here at BS. I guess for a few who are willing to share WeTransfer or something on them lines may be the only line left to achieve true fare play in the name of sharing.

Bowiestation is not closing, but certainly there haven't been many uploads lately.
Now Bowiestation is a giant archive with about 2000 Bowie torrents (all seeded 24/7), which includes re-posts of almost everything that were originally posted on MWP, SJ, HC, Dime and other sites.

Along with that there have been new uploads which originates from various members who offered their tape collections, where about half the recordings have come from one source alone.

The BowStat series includes the best recordings out of the tapes, and a lot more have been uploaded without artworks or remastering.

I have prepared almost all these recordings, except for the remastered ones where Learm has contributed the most. I'm also no good with graphics, so MossGarden has helped out with almost all artworks.

As some of you might know, I have been struggling with health issues. Along with that I have been facing a lot of problems lately, where the result is that I have a really hard time concentrating and manage to do next to nothing.

Putting a recording out actually requires some work, and a non-Bowstat upload normally takes 2-3 hours to prepare, but might take much longer if speed adjustment is needed.
With a Bowstat release, I might use 5-10 hours to do my part along with coordinating with remasters and artworks.

Right now I'm starting to feel better, with the main personal problem out of the way, so expect some more uploads from my part soon.

There are still a lot of tapes untouched and there will be uploads both as Bowstat, and also others outside of the Bowstat series. There will certainly be some Bowstats before xmas :)

And finally, to all of you that only download, please go through your collections and upload what is missing on this site. Please share with other members.

i look at this site as a wonderful archive and also a place to discuss bowie related issues. i wish a little more was going on sometimes - like the discussion about the recent box set was much more lively at the steve hoffman forum - but i think the value of bowiestation is mainly as an excellent archive and documentation of bowie recordings.

thanks for keeping it alive jan erik and best wishes for better health - i've had my share of health issues and can imagine how you must be feeling at times....

Get better JanErik!

Look, this place is a great library and we are definitely all dying out. The best thing you can do if you can't contribute recordings? Keep the site funded! Next go to some of the arrival sites like nathan's page or even the old teenagewildlife page (which you may have to get to via the waybackmachine) and look at some of the tour dates.

Make a list of what's missing. What may or may not exist.

Do the stuff that I don't have time for and contact tapers from whatever era you are looking for and see if they taped a Bowie show. That's what we did at the beginning, and before that we put ads in fanzines.

I know its slow-going in the world of today, but that's what you do.

Most of my tapes, purchased, traded, personally recorded, are all out there in one form or another. I probably have about 10 that aren't and I'll get to them eventually. But preparing a files to be shared eternally takes some time and there isn't enough time these days. (Gotta do it right the first time, eh?)

Oh! You could go out and tape some of the remembering bowie shows. That's a thing. Do that!

Meanwhile, someone go find the rest of that Chilipepper tape.
