Setlist.fm reports “Warsawza” was played on this tv show. I am duvious that it was. I do not believe that it was played on that tour. If so, is there a recording?

A massive 53 seconds of it is on the end of the audio compilation 'TV is King' (credited as Karel TV, Amsterdam 3-Feb-96, but of course Hilversum is more likely to be correct).  So the answer does appear to be that it's genuine, but I don't know if a complete recording is around.

It's "Warszawa", unless that spelling mistake was intentional - after all, it also reportedly appeared on early pressings of "Stage". ;-)

This show was in netherlands 96 only (i i think i have the right tour dates from several books)

David Bowie performed live at this Dutch tv show. It was recorded at a bar at the Rembrandt square in Amsterdam. At the end of the show a Dutch guest musician played Warzawa live on a piano.

The show opened with the guest piano player (few bars of Sense of doubt) and he also closed the show playing Warszawa. So technically Bowie didn't perform the song.. Though Carlos is playing along a bit.

In fact they started with the performance followed by the interview. The ran through the songs three times. There were two broadcasts edited one with a shorter interview and all songs and one with longer interview (including the Laura Ashley bit) and Under Pressure.

The original broadcast can be bought on DVD from the Dutch institute of Sound and Vision (www.beeldengeluid.nl). I bought it many years ago for about 30 euro (they make a copy straight of the highres digital file to dvd so it's of much better quality than the original broadcast recordings). Lots of other Bowie footage is available or can be digitalised.

Well it's a bit of a grey area isn't it? It's copyright is owned by the Dutch television broadcaster AVRO (now AVROTROS) and the show is officially available for purchase from the Dutch television archives, making it sort of an 'official release'.

It also mentions in the description of the TOPPOP* youTube video:

...the video recording of the video clip was originally recorded by AVROTROS Broadcasting. AVROTROS Broadcasting hereby warrants and represents that it is the sole and exclusive owner of the physical film and/or videotape footage in this video clip.

The performance of the artist(s) in the clip was filmed and recorded with the written consent of the artist(s) and their representatives.

*TOPPOP is also owned by AVROTROS

I don't know how you moderators feel about this? Falls this under the category official?
