And it has to be this way - it's not the Mods fault, it's the law.

23Heddon,

Same!  I wanted to watch it the normal way but I was not able to, and now his army of lawyers have scrubbed it from the internet it seems.........  I just want to watch it, if they gave me a reasonable way to I would.

Sucks that such a great artist has such an awful team of lawyers. Any tips on where to source it outside of here?

I am almost certain that is not the Bowie estate or their lawyers who are responsible. I have worked part time with our local community theatre for almost 20 years and can attest that the toughest enforcers of copyright in all of the entertainment industry is the theatre world. Especially those publishers and rights holders of musicals. They have an army of auditors who will attend productions posing as patrons and they sit in the audience making notes. They report what music you play in the auditorium before and after the show and during intermission... they report if you change, add or omit sections of the play. And they will also chat up cast members at the audience meet and greet after the show to find out if video copies are being made. Theatre's are allowed to record their productions for their archives but those recording must remain in-house. Our theatre used to make copies for the cast but we got busted by an auditor who casually mentioned to a cast member, "aw, it's too bad you guys don't get to actually see the show you are in". The cast member spilled the beans thinking she was talking to a friendly member of the audience.

That's a real shame.  Everyone just seems to be about the money these days.

A few years ago in my old job, we used to play our own music from hard drives and such to break up the repetition of commercial radio and the terribly annoying DJ's who think they are somehow important.  One day, a patient came in and was asking about the music we were playing and how good it is that we don't play boring radio stations.  We told him how we divided up the music among staff from their own private collections and such.  He seemed to think it was great.

Around 6 weeks later, our boss received a letter in the mail asking the company to refrain from "public broadcasting" or some such and that we would face heavy penalties if we continued.  Now, this was a small office space at a private clinic in Brisbane, Australia and we struggled to get our heads around what had happened.

Turns out that client who thought what we were doing was great turned out to be some twat from some place in Oz that went about warning private companies, cafes and such about copyrighted music.

These people are up there with parking inspectors for me! Ha ha! :)

I was a landlord for 7 years in the late 90's / early 2000s and just to play background music cost a fortune, live bands even more and not even going to mention the cost of live sport.

Ridiculous

Did I also mention I was a DJ on the radio for over 40 years.
