Okay, so for me, as a late 90's kid when it came to discovering Bowie (don't worry, I love his classic stuff too, Station to Station and Low in particular), I was pretty fixated on the Outside and Earthling eras.

For me, there are two Holy Grails of Bowie material from that time. The early Outside recordings (or whatever that project was originally to be called), of which, I think the "The Leon Suite" recordings are all that has/likely-will surface from that (though I can always hope and dream for more of that crazy time-capsule of a recording..."one day, the internet will become an INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY!";)

The other grail, and this is the point I am rambling around to in this post, is the Tao Jones Index mini-sets that were performed during the beginning of the Earthling tour.

There, as far as I can see, simply aren't any great recordings of these sets in their entirety. Certainly nothing soundboard. That said, a lot of the individual songs are floating around. Enough that I have been trying to cobble together a simulated set.

1. I'm Deranged <--liveandwell.com
2. Pallas Athena <--liveandwell.com
3. V2 Schneider <--liveandwell.com
4. Dead Man Walking <--Currently just using the "moby 1" mix studio recording as a placeholder
5. O Superman <--Look At The Moon (got the vinyl) has a wonderful recording of this, I just need a digital version.
6. Last Thing You Should Do <--Currently using the 50th Birthday recording here, but not ideal
7. Is It Any Wonder <--Found a dubious "High Quality Live" version on YouTube, also not ideal

So basically, what I was hoping is that some people who are better versed in the extant recordings of that tour could weigh in about the best audio quality versions of Dead Man Walking (the Tao Jones version, not the regular one), Last Thing You Should Do, and Is It Any Wonder?

Thanks!

You can find TLTYSD and IIAW on the Boston 97 show. Look for the speed-corrected version. From what I recall, you can also get a Robert Smith-less version of TLTYSD from the Santiago de Chile gig. Both gigs are soundboard-sourced. Albeit, in both cases, with Alford on drums instead of that percussion kit he used on the Tao Jones Index shows.

Those both are definite improvements from what I had before for TLTYSD. The Santiago de Chile one was a little less treble-heavy than the Boston one, so I am liking that one quite a lot. Thanks!

Honestly (and I eat this stuff for breakfast) just go grab the 100% British tapes of the TAO JONES INDEX sets. They are better than we deserve, given the crowds. There are a handful of them and you won't be sorry.

I think I know the "high-quality live" version on YouTube you mean. Wish I had any idea what show/boot it was taken from. Hopefully the estate have got a high-quality Tao Jones Index set album kicking around somewhere (after all, they seem to have those versions of Pallas and V-2, right?) that they're just saving for a rainy day, as it's one of the most fascinating parts of an already very fascinating tour, one they and too many others have probably overlooked as "just more Outside".

Yup.
Great content creator, who personally recorded a whole heap of shows and made them available under the '100PCB' imprint.

You can also try the following from the Amsterdam Paradiso show right here:

I've also got a copy of the Nottingham Rock City show from August 5th 1997 - a 'birthday gig' for me and a really nice recording too. Prepping this for the site now, so with a little luck it should be on the tracker in the next couple of days

'David Bowie - 1997-06-10 - Paradiso - Amsterdam - Netherlands (Master) (Source 2)' is a great recording,

I'd also recommend "David Bowie - 1997-06-02 - Hanover Grand - London - England (Song And Dance) (Dancing Horse DH-017) (Source 1 100PCB)"

https://www.bowiestation.com/torrents-details.php?id=968

And you can hear the subtle differences when the 'Tao Jones Index' tracks are played during the 'rock set' vs the 'dance set'

Yeah, so thanks. Tracked down some of those 100PCB recordings and the two you suggested. Really great for being an audience recording!

Hi! I'm from Italy. I recently uploaded a good version of "Is It Any Wonder?" on You Tube, which i found a while ago...
Maybe it is what you are looking for. Anyway, here is the link to get the file. In addition, I also uploaded the track "O superman", from the recent release "Look at the moon!". I hope I was helpful.
