This is madness.
I got a text message telling me BLA5 was up on pre-order, but by the time I got to the site the vinyl sets were already sold out - but I managed to get the CD from UK, and a quick trip to the US store got me the vinyl set. At the same time as both sale confirmations came through, I also got the 'official notification email' telling me that it was now on pre-order, and to 'shop now'.
This arrived after the site had pretty much sold out - all vinyl gone, only CD still available.

Anyone wanting the vinyl should go to the US store - they are not awake over there yet, so should still be available. But HURRY!

Oh - it's the Paris 1999 show, so nothing actually new.

I was able to get my order in at the EU store but this is a ridiculous way to sell this stuff.  It annoys loyal fans and benefits ebay scalpers. I have managed to get all 5 releases so far but am worried I might miss number 6

Same here, saw the mail, went to the Bowie store, tried to order the cd and it was already gone when I tried putting it into the basket. Luckily I managed to get a copy thru' the DIG! store. Who knew that an 'hours...' tour show would sell out this quick! Maybe the fact that this is one of the few properly mixed new releases?

Anyway, always loved the show and tour. Looking forward to the disc:)

I got mine at 10am sharp uk time; I saw that they added the shirt, then the LP, then the CD over a couple of minutes. Just caught it at the right time. Once BLA 6 is in my hands, then I'll be happy and relax.

To my mind the way that the Brilliant Live Adventures campaign has been put together and conducted is a disgrace.

We’ve had 5 releases so far of which two were already commercially available (and no bonus tracks) and then two single discs of 95 concerts when presumably the full shows could have been issued.  And then there is the fiasco of the empty box that doesn’t detail any of the contents!  Look At The Moon! has been the only real positive from what has otherwise been a lazy and shambolic marketing campaign that has only served to put money in the pockets of profiteers at the expense of Bowie’s most devoted fans.

The open-market prices for Something In The Air are the same or even higher than Look At The Moon! - and that was a 2CD set!

I’m hoping that BLA#6 will be a killer compilation that includes My Death from the GQ Men Of The Year Show and the full Tao Jones Index set from Amsterdam but who knows.  The only thing we can be sure of is that it will be even more difficult to get hold of and even more expensive on the open market.

I hope so - mine has still not arrived yet, despite being ordered from Rhino US as the UK sites were all long gone. I live in hope.

Amsterdam would be nice to see official too - I just ran across an officially recorded version of 'Pallas Athene' from that set, on a GQ Magazine CD.....so it obviously was recorded.
That said, so was Rotterdam '76 but that has never seen light of day officially either.

I've got that one as well as a full soundboard recording.
The track I was referring to is not a soundboard, it sounds like a properly mixed track. FM broadcasts were usually mixed 'on the fly' in an outside broadcast truck if beamed literally live, but also multitracked at the same time for future remixing (ie The Kit Kat Klub show from NYC in 1999)

The FM broadcast was not live. After the show Bowie decided which songs could be aired, then they probaly did mix those songs and transmitted them an hour or so after the show.

Then they will be the 'on the fly' versions.
An hour after the show there is literally no way that everything would have been played through, then remixed after decisions were taken.

The Paradiso songs were remixed for radio by Bowie. The Dutch Radio 3 wanted to broadcast the 'on the fly recordings' but Bowie didn't allow that and wanted to do his own mix. They are probably mixed by Plati. The fact that Bowie did his own mix was specifically mentioned a couple of times by Dutch DJs at the time who were amazed that somebody was such a perfectionist about his live recordings (apparently all other artist they broadcasted were fine with the on the fly recordings).

It's funny that the BLA releases are the exact opposite of this approach (apart from Paris 99 and LAW who were properly mixed for release).

From the information on the box you know that two of the six releases represent the hours tour. Thus your hope for BLA6 is not going to be realised.

I was not aware that two of the release have been already available commercially. LAW was previously available with similar content but that wasn't really a commercial release. What are those releases so I can seek them out?

The previous release of Liveandwell is on Amazon as a digital download - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0881YGTDX/ref=dm_ws_sp_ps_dp

and of course Something in the Air was originally released in August 2020 - see https://www.davidbowie.com/blog/2020/8/6/something-in-the-air-live-paris-99-details

I'm really disappointed to hear that BLA#6 is going to be another 'hours'release (I'm assuming that it will be the Kit Kat Klub so I suppose that we will get the extra 2 or 3 different songs included in that set) but thanks for the insight - at least I can manage my expectations accordingly!
