This is where somebody tuned into the wireless frequency transmitted to a band member's in ear monitor to record the audio mix that they hear as they perform.

Not necessarily - some IEM and SBD are done off the monitor board, where the monitor engineer assigns 2 outputs to either a tape or digital recorder, and literally mixes it on the fly.
Some are tuning in to the radio frequency but this is not always the case

It would be pretty cool if when websites disappeared they retracted anything downloaded from them from existence, gotta admit.  :)

According to my bootleg bible
https://www.davidbowieworld.nl/
The only Denver 2002 boot is audience. Hoveder it's rated 9/10 for sound quality.
I'm guessing that it could be taken for af soundboard recording by mistake. But interesting if a real soundboard exists that has been practically unnoticed.

Interesting but strange recording - on the one hand, elements of it are very clear, which could lead to a quick listen (say of the first track, Life on Mars) leading to someone concluding is a soundboard.

However the bass on much of the rest of it - what I briefly checked so far anyway - is very distorted. A shame, no easy to fix that or even 'mask' that. The wavs (soundwaves) suggest distortion too.

Would be interesting if the version labelled soundboard is this one or another one?

I tried playing with a little bit in Audacity but the distortion makes it tricky to do much to raise the gain without having to do a lot of compression / pushing the peaks, which is something I never want to do. Maybe one to label as a 'what might have been' ....

Checking it back, it is absolutely an audience recording.
The sound is just too distant for it to be anything else.
Apologies for believing the info file - editing this now
