Can anyone help with this question

I once read an article concerning Bowie on tour in the sixties

the article that intrigued me was talking about 1966/ 1967.

David played with the Buzz 1966 and then Riot Squad in 1967, right

it mentions that Bowie first played with (No name) as a member of one of the support bands.

So, does anyone know which bands provided support on the Buzz tour of 1966 or Riot Squad 1967?

A name has been suggested for Riot Squad support - The Raiders??

Any thoughts welcome?...

There is an amazing list of Bowie concerts in the 60's here: http://www.bowiewonderworld.com/tours/tour58.htm
It doesn't really answer your questions but I hink it's interesting anyway.

The first David Bowie & the Buzz gig was, apparently at the Mecca Ballroom, Leicester on the 10th February 1966 supporting The Graham Bond Organisation. The seem to have done a lot of gigs in their own right but they supported Gary Farr & The T-Bones on the 23rd September at the Marquee.

He first gets together with The Riot Squad on 13th March 1967 and the first known appearance with them is on 28th March at Kodak's Social Club, Harrow. Can't find much more out about him and The Riot Squad after last known appearance at Tiles Club London on 13th April 1967. There's an appearance by them on the 21st July at The Electric Garden in Covent Garden but it's unknown if Bowie was there or not. Can't find any record of who supported them or who they supported I'm afraid.

In case your wondering, I'm not clever or a geek but got the info from a very detailed book called "Any Day Now - The London Years 1947-1974 by Kevin Cann". It's a diary of what he did in those years so worth obtaining if you are a fan! :D

I interviewed Bob Evans of the Riot Squad on 27th January. I am trying to convince them to do a book covering their time with David.

So obvious question is, anything recorded left on tape that he may have ??

I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring.

The rehearsal tape actually failed to sell at the Bonhams auction so he still has it, although it's in amongst some boxes that he has yet to unpack following a move. I am 90% sure that it includes material not on the cdbaby release, but perhaps just between song chat/musical fragments were left off. The rehearsal tape ran for 23:03 so if you add up the times from the cdbaby release you will be able to work out how much is left to discover.

I failed to explicitly ask if he had a full copy of the Decca session tape. We did talk about the session, I am sure he would of said if he had a full copy. I'll add that to the bunch of questions that I need to ask him.
