I seem to recall reading that Bowie did *two* radio shows in 1979, where he played some of his favourite records.

One is called Star Special, and features things like 'He's My Star' (Little Richard), We Love You (The Rolling Stones), Where were you (The Mekons), Beck's Bolero (Jeff Beck(.

This has circulated on tape way back when, and since then I think the tape version has been digitised and there was a digital rebroadcast too.

I seem to recall reading about a second show, which may have had some crossover in song choices, but had things like 'I Feel Love' by Donna Summer, among others.

Does anyone have a copy of this latter broadcast?

Thanks for the offer

TTD (Trader's Den) and Dime (Dimeadozen) may have more detailed guides on torrent preperation - i.e. best practices, checksums etc if anything is glossed over here.

Thanks for this - I guess my impression there was another long show featuring lots of favourite records again was misplaced. I felt I had read about there being another show like that, once - perhaps I did (mistakes did get made in Bowie lists etc), perhaps I didn't. Kevin Cann's Chronology book only mentions Star Special in terms of a long favourite songs broadcast.

Anyway thanks for the share! :)

There was a Capital Radio show in 1979, where David and the DJ (probably Nicky Horne) were joined by a group of fans and there was a bit of a Q&A.  Don't know why, but 19th February or so sticks in the mind.  Used to have a copy back in the day, but long long gone

Yep, read about that in Kevin Cann's book in the early hours when I was trying to doublecheck on what I read about / what existed, what did not.

The Nicky Horne show is great.  I played that on Youtube just after David died and it cheered me up.  Bowie was in really good form on that and funny too with some of the answers to listener questions.
