maybe this has been up for debate earlier
but
i wonder if anybodye here have information about this track from the david live album in 1974
"Here today, gone tommorov" is a lovely song, and for me unknown until i heard it on the 1991s reissue of the david live album.
why did he pick this track, and on what date was it played, and did he play it any other night, is there any rehearsals recording or studio recording. maybe it was recorded during pin-ups sessons as it is a cover.

/James

According to Pegg's book, some clams that it has been played as an encore at Tampa gig on 2 July 1974, but its only certain that it was played at the Philadelphia concert. He also says that some people have claimed that it was recorded at the Young Americans sessions.

I don't know why he chose to cover the song, but if fits really well with what he was doing at the time.

I'm happy that the new versions of the concert have restored to the correct running order and include the songs that was left out originally, but I like the sound of the first Lp version better.

I still have my doubts that the version is really live recording in front of an audience. I never found any audience recording with this song on it...

The original version is to be found on the 1968 Ohio Players album Observations In Time.

This was recorded at a sound check before the actual show. Not sure the of the month/day of 1974. There is a mistake in the performance where Bowie messes up with the structure of the song.
Sort of like Jean genie ~
