Hello everyone, are the official Blackstar's lyrics available somehow/somewhere? I personally don't own the album, so I just don't know if there's a booklet that comes with it. (No lyrics are shown on davidbowie.com.) I'm asking because I've noticed that the texts that can be found around on the Internet have different words here and there, then of course some of them are wrong, but which ones? I've even started to doubt about this "In the Villa of ORMEN" first line of Blackstar song: actually db sings "Villa of OMEN" - at least to my ears -, which of course would make much more sense, since he defined himself a "seer" and he usually had premonitions, lucid dreams and all. In this case Blackstar would be basically a prophecy...

Yes the lyrics are in the booklet that comes with the CD and vinyl. The opening lyrics of "Blackstar" are indeed "In the villa of Ormen ..."

Interestingly, some of the lyrics to 'Tis A Pity She Was A Whore are not reprinted in the booklet, the lines from, "Black struck the kiss ..." to "... with rattling speed".

Thank you very much, earlgrey. Yes, I'd noticed that before, but I didn't trust on www.nydailynews.com that much because at the end is written "All lyrics provided by Lyric Genius", so they don't come straight away from the Blackstar's booklet (or some other official db's source).

Hahaha, yeah, that's true! I myself, as said, had understood "omen" instead, and it made such a great sense... My opinion is that he could not talk openly ("I can't give everything away" ) to protect, not himself this time (I've got nothing left to lose" ), but his dear ones, who could be somehow hurt in case of more explicit lyrics.
