An original 1983 sealed mint condition Lp can be bought for from € 10 on Discogs, that way you get it the way it is supposed to sound, no remastering, no brickwalling and what ever else they do to destroy the sound for the modern ear, and for about € 19 you can get it with the best version of the cover, the one with the drawing that has the red sun on it and the small photographs. I dont get this newbury version, it's a bad new cover, there is no need for a new cover and it is an edition of only 300, that way its only about collecting, nobody who buys it is going to play it, I'm tired of records being made to be collected not played. Also I am not a fan og coloured vinyl.

That's all from the sour old man today :D  who cant wait for the 10" Don't Be Fooled By The Name to arrive in the post.

I have the original that I bought in 1983. I also have the original EP 2 titles of 1983.
But I do not collect vinyl "remasters" or reissues. It's a question of choice.
For cons, I posted this information that comes directly from Ryuichi because I think she can interest the vinyl completists.  :D

I have the original too. It is a good record, I like the mix of Sakamoto and David Sylvian, if anyone likes that, finding the Bamboo Houses single is a treat.

There is a Japanese 2cd version of the soundtrack that I don't have, as I understand it the second cd is all the music that was in the film but not on the org soundtrack, I read that there is also somewhere a version were Sakamoto plays the whole thing on piano.

And you are right, it is interesting for someone who needs every version of everything, I have nothing against that, it is just not for me. With very few exceptions I just want one of each, and I prefer to have the records the way they were original released, so most of what I have two of, are records where I had bought the first one as an 80's repress and then later bought an early version.

I was just venting against all these limited represses, where it is only the packeting that is new, and for a lot the sound is a downgrade, I want new stuff, that sounds great  :D
