I have been on holiday and always read a book this year it was 'Mick Ronson - The Spider with the Platinum Hair' a great read lots of stuff I didn't know about Ronson with all his other collaborations.

Mentioned in this book [page 291] an unofficial 8 CD set culled from the Ryko vaults which mentions multiple versions of Memory of a free festival / Star / also Life on Mars with Ronno telling Rick Wakeman how to play a piano part. Does anybody here have this or heard of this?? it states this is very rare.

For anyone who hasn't read this book get a copy it's brilliant.

I am now trying to expand my Ronson collection using this book and looking for his collaboration work, have the most common ones with Ian Hunter and then the odd tracks with Elton John/The Wildhearts/Roger McGuinn/Dylan.

If anybody has anything can you let me know please.

only people from Inner Circle don't believe in a David Bowie Inner Circle group of fans.
The called "Inner Circle" are rich fans that bought all kind of Bowie rare acetates and exclusive material direct from record company employees.

yes i think the op's question is not about these officially released ryko 24k releases. Rkyo had a lot of material to listen too at the time they did their official release, but most of the material that they wanted to include was kyboshed by Bowie himself. So an unofficial release of the Ryko stuff would of had a lot of material not heard before, Me personally have not heard about this before.

I've only ever heard about this mysterious 8-CD collection from this book excerpt and never really found any other info elsewhere. But of course I would love nothing more than for this to turn up soon! I reckon right now the closest thing we have is that fantastic '1971 EMI Masters' collection of rejects available here for download.
