The server has been reinstalled and a backup of the website is now back, instead of a remake that is overdue.
Hopefully it will work for some time, or at least buy us some time developing a new site.

I have noticed that the old links, example:

https://www.bowiestation.com/TT2/donation.php

only work when you remove the "TT2", example:

https://www.bowiestation.com/donation.php

This seems to apply to all links: forum posts, torrents, etc.

Sounds like the re-install caused it to revert to the original URL configuration. Taking care of that should solve a lot of issues.

Windows and uTorrent 2.2.1.

I'm gettting the "An error occurred" message in the Tracker status column.  

This is only happening here on Bowie Station.  This is the first I've attempted downloading here in months, but my seeded torrents haven't been connecting since the last time the site went down.

I don't think that this torrent would have ever been on BowieStation as it's basically to do with Bowie's music and a few others. But it may have been on Mindwarp pavilion at some stage, the link is referring to MWP gallery of artwork covers inserts etc. which we have on this site as a torrent.

Have you tried the Dimeadozen torrent site or the traders den for the Duffy concert??? it maybe worth a look.

uTorrent uses Windows XP's internal routines (the "secure channel", as the message kindly notes) to do TLS stuff. Unfortunately, Windows XP does not support TLS 1.1, while the BowieStation server requires support for TLS 1.2. There is no way you can connect to the tracker via HTTPS with uTorrent as long as you stay on Windows XP, unless you perhaps change your client to a one that uses an external library for handling TLS.

So the real answer is : update to at least Windows 7 or change to a client that doesn't use secure channel.


This is kept here only for historical reference, the HTTP service was shut down somewhere around June 2020
