Hello again. Just a quick question, has anyone purchased the above mentioned Box set or heard it?
Unfortunately for me I have to wait for an MP3 download as the prices for these Box sets are always too high for my humble pockets.

Bit naughty of me, but I've just gate crashed that one - cheers!

despite being an avid fan continuously since early '73 I somehow cannot bring myself to buy all of these recent posthumous issues/reissues/remasters/box sets/long lost whatevers/etc/etc.  

Never mind the money side of it, the whole thing just seems a bit like, forgive me, pissing on his (career's) grave to me..... reaches for hard hat....hasty exit right..


but, that said, being the hypocrite, I'll blag this one for nowt! cheers.

I think is a great box set (book set) realy i'm not dissapointed at all. most tracks are already on manny boots, but stll some were new for me, and it has great sound quality. The book tells a lot of that time and is full with nice pics. of David and info sheets off the demo's

I have Amazon music. That allows you to stream it all for around £8.00 or £4.00 on one’d device only. Gives you an idea of what your getting for your money.

The trouble with Amazon Music is that it is crappy MP3 - even by MP3 standards, their BS 128kbps bitrate is a true piss take.

First up, Merry Christmas all.

Secondly, put simply, the box is at best mediocre, not to mention grossly over priced. And as for the sound quality, the early demos ( which is mostly what we're interested in right? ) are shite sound wise.

Perhaps I'm not best placed to judge, having only been into Bowie since 1971. But back then, this box would have been tagged "rip off".

Sure, SO sounds great, but I could have lived without it, as the 40th version is excellent. And I'm fairly sure that if David was still with us, he certainly wouldn't have sanctioned this release.

Sorry kids, but that's the way it is.

Darn, sorry I missed this. I agree, they seem to think that Bowie fans have deep, endless pockets. I also agree that there are so many things coming out that it is overwhelming and it makes me wonder if they are just trying to squeeze every penny they can out of the diehard Bowie fans (of which I have been one since 1974)

It is a very subjective thing.
Personally, I do not care for the 40th anniversary remasters very much at all - I think they are highly over rated so that goes to prove the point I think.
