New covers.

David Bowie, Atlanta 1 Dec 1974

I wanted to make this one feel like it was something collectable, but also have a retro 70's feel, so lots of little bits put together in photoshop and a lot of photography of bits I set up, plus material from the net went into making this.

Still getting a handle on doing covers for Iggy Pop, the photos and text style of most of his coves isn't really my style, but here is a first attempt.

There are more covers under way. I am always happy to get feedback on the work, and corrections, the band lineups did change a lot on the 1974 tours!

My brother keeps blinding me with science and saying I need a photo of a certain size.
I'm not asking for The Sixteenth Chapel Ceiling level just something vaguely photo-realistic.

I Iove the Iggy Pop artwork and the david bowie - pavillion de paris, paris, france- 18th may 1976 artwork - this kind reminds me the legendary Serge Gainsbourg "Love On The Beat" album cover.

are all your artworks available in 300 dpi so that I can print them ?
where are the links - on your web site ? because the Bowie previews page does not have the 300 dpi artwork; these are smaller file

do you plan to do an artwork for the Young Americans sessions aka Sigma reel 2 which surfaced recently ?

(by the way the Led Zep artwork are great, so are the Ricky Lee Jones and Miles Davis funky era... did you make an artwork for the Kind Of Blue sessions because I have an extended CD which would needed an artwork like yours!)

I only started making the artworks at 300dpi a couple of year ago, so artworks from before then are 150dpi, all the available artworks are linked from:

The covers on the page for my Bowie recordings are mostly ones that came from scans on the web, I did make a few, but unfortunately, I lost a lot of those in a disc crash. Some are by the artist Teri Varhol, who is now a professional photographer, but her site is no longer available, pity as her artworks are fantastic.


I did make a lot of the covers on the website that are not on the artworks page, but most of these were lost in a disc crash ten years ago, I could scan some back, but the quality from the printouts wouldn’t be great.

I'll have a look at the Sigma Recordings, sounds like a nice project to do.

For the Miles Davis, I know some are on the Pink Floyd tracker 'yeeshkul', and there are a lot on Guitars 101.

The Uppsala 1971 recording on there is one that I spent 3 months editing in 2008 from 3 different sources and removing vinyl and digital clicks that spoiled a very good recording.

nice booklet; I like the "vintage"/old paper filter; that makes all these great photos homogenous. Great selection of black & white photos from these mythic sessions.

There are no several silver CDs using the Sigma Studios 1974 sessions now, combining the new stuff and some 5.1 mix stripped down (still no tape source on CD released ? so far it has only surfaced on vinyl, then it has been silvered on CD but no tape->CD source so far)

are these fragments available on the tracker ? where ?

I think that the "Can You Hear Me" studio chat was on the silver CDs "People On The Streets".
And there is a kind of rehearsal of "Right" in the documentary Cracked Actor - broadcast on Arte channel.
