Hey there gang...as a life-long collector / fanboy of EVERYTHING 1978 tour-wise (like i know many here are)  are we all in agreeance (if that's actually a word??) that Baton Rogue is probably the best sounding audience recording, or atleast i find that's the one that most people agree on....anyway, i'm puzzled as to why no one has ever remastered it properly?? it's an amazing recording no question, but it runs waaay too fast yeah?? unless i need my hearing checked?? it's literally chipmunk speed is it not??

Is anyone here versed enough to slow it down, and maybe (less importantly) add a little bottom end?? then it would surely be THE best 1978 aud hands down...altho, i've always been a fan of Sydney 1978, in my younger days i actually thought it was a soundboard, it's so good....but every version i've heard, pretty much since 1979 is the same vinyl rip...does someone have a rip from the original cassette?? that would be a holy grail in my book!!
i actually have a TDK-C90 cassette in my drawer that i was given of Adelaide 1978 (as thats where i'm from) and was assured it was the original cassette used for the Adelaide Speed of Life vinyl back in 1979, but i've never gotten around to checking :(

Anyway, sorry for the ramble...hoping for a remaster of Baton Rogue & Sydney...ANYONE??....

I'll be honest. I never liked the show much - partly for one of the reasons you mentioned - the lack of bottom end.

I like things to be the right speed though (and one of the things I am good at imo is gauging the speed that is right for recordings), and I like a challenge too.

I will check and see whether I think I can do something that makes it a comfortable enough listen to me to get the speed right, and see - if I don't think I can do justice to it I will reply back either way.

Sorry, my reply got lost somewhere....
Hey thanks Steveboy....that Heroes sample certainly sounded better to my ears....hard to describe, but i feel as if the vocals are fine, but the music still seems a little fast....having heard countless 78 shows, i'm, pretty sure sometimes the band did seem to speed things up a little, and other times the  music sounded like it was dragging a bit?? but certainly that would be much more listenable at that speed, thanks....any chance of a full upload?? Mucho appreciated :)

This is a very useful thread, if it leads to somebody being able to fix this show a little bit. I got the Baton Rouge 2CD silver many years ago, but I never really liked it, even though I treasure the 1978 tour. The reason is the speed and the shrill sound. The recording is somewhat OK, if not for these 2 things.

Fantastic!! thanks all.....i'll get onto the Adelaide tape as soon as humanly possible....i was told the reason the FULL Adelaide show wasn't used (unlike the FULL Sydney show) was that the guy taping it ("G";) wasn't fully set up when the show suddenly started....being that of course Adelaide was the first stop on the Aussie tour....by the time Sydney & Melbourne came around he knew the routine....apparently the rain in Melbourne spoilt most of that tape, altho luckily we still got "Rain" instead of Fame!!

I also have a pretty decent Adelaide 83 Serious Moonlight which I still need transfering, don't know if there's much interest in that tho?? I don't believe Adelaide 83 has turned up anywhere else tho??

It's good to know these things are about Adelaide 83 will also be wanted!!! as it's not been available that I know of.

There is a complete recording of Adelaide 78 on this site but a different source is always welcome.

Great that you like the remaster. Don't forget to thank Goody who made quite a portion of the work on it. I want to hint also to the fixed version which I upped just now as there was a small bug in Fame.

Of course we would be interested in Adelaide 78 + 83. Can you upload these?

I'm working on Adelaide 1983 as we speak, it's actually better than i remember....i RECALL being so grateful that i got the very excited announcer at the beginning....think i taped 10mins of nothingness just waiting for the announcement!!

Could someone please send me a link for how to upload....and as it's my first time, it'll just be the 23 tracks (total 1hr:39m) ID'd, but no splitting for CD....is that ok??
