I think now that I have spent nearly three years obsessing over Bowie's music, I want to go look at all the other mediums he explored. I know of his films and Lazarus. He did theatre too. He also apparently did an art installation(s?). And in the late 90s he had a horror TV show where he was the host. He did a soundtrack for a game too. Does this about cover it all?

Are there any videos of his plays? And is there any way to experience his art installations now that they've probably been taken down. Are the TV shows and films he did any good?

Finally, what do you think of Bowie's non-musical ventures?

Not entirely sure he did installations in the commonly understood way.
But exhibitions yes.
All you need on that is here http://www.bowiewonderworld.com/art/art.htm
There are news reports and fan footage for a few if you search youtube etc.

The only one that's properly documented is Bowie Is, and there's an 'official' video production of that.
No videos of his plays on stage, but search for Nacho Elephant Man and you'll get the version of what's available from that, great work from Nacho that one.

The Looking Glass Murders is a play that was filed for television, as was Baal. Both are reasonably easy to find, and both officially available.

The Man Who Fell To Earth is generally recognised to be his stand out performance, but it's as much good casting as it is acting.
He does a good job as a leading actor in Labyrinth, The Hunger (movie), The Prestige, (and Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence at a push).
Supporting roles in Into The Night, Last Temptation of Christ and Extras are good.
Absolute Beginners works for some people, and his crazy turn in Twin Peaks is interesting.
The intro to the Snowman is always fun.
And his voice-over for SpongeBob is great.

The rest probably is for the completeist only with the exception of The Image, a very early film of his.
That's great and for me it informs a lot of his later work in style and tone, right through to 1.Outside.

Cracked Actor is a fantastic documentary, and the Ricochet film is also very revealing.
His sections in the Inspirations documentary are easy to find and they are great too.

I'd also suggest you look for the 1.Outside EPK, that's a good watch.
I'm sure others will have differing opinions, i've tried to capture the generally accepted wisdom here.

Thanks for the answer, att. Incidentally Labyrinth is being released in 4K HDR in August of this year. Sadly because it's HDR I won't be able to watch the 4K remaster.
