Guys

I'm having an issue with playing music thru my laptop using Foobar2000/WMP/VLC with a glitch every few minutes some time less than a minute, this is all music cd rips streaming, torrent downloads. Played via headphones and/or a lead thru to my 5.1 system.  Windows 10 OS.

I've checked for drivers they are up to date checked output buffering no change This happens on 2 laptops. I've closed all other software down and just used Foobar only.

Any ideas guys??

It could be you have some other software that is not up to date, that is conflicting with it?

Sometimes removing and reinstalling software can work.

Not so much recently, but in the past I recall I had times when foobar did not work, so I switched to VLC for a while - when I later tried foobar and it worked fine - so again, could have been a software conflict *at that time*, which resolved itself.

Hmm on re-reading your problem - you mention other players not working - sounds like a sound drivers issue.

I reckon keep trying the 'fixes' in settings. I reckon what will happen MS will gradually download patches and fixes over a period of time - could be a matter of hours or even a day or so max to resolve the issue.

I used to lose sound on my pc *every* time there were updates a couple of years back, it was crazy. After a while of me keeping using the sound help on my pc, MS seemed to get the message, somehow, and the issue stopped.

Not like they don't own us as they have all our data :(....

If it happens with different players to my amateur knowledge it sounds like either a driver, soundcard or recent Windows Update problem....

Now sorted. Not going in to details but it was not a computer issue. It was my 5.1 system set up went back to defaults.
