Its Interesting that Bowie Says "The lamb lies Down on Broadway" at the end of "Aladdin Sane"
in the Moscow show 18 June 1996.

It's just a curiosity, as I've always liked Bowie's and Gabriel's music I found this detail interesting.

It's nothing to do with Genesis, it's some lyrics from a song called 'On Broadway' by Leiber and Stoller.

"The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" was the title of a Genesis album.

David was always mashing up lyrics and phrases of other songs at the end of Aladdin Sane. Snipits of On Broadway have been part of the song since the original recording but bits of the Kinks All Day and All of the Night often but not always show up and then he would throw in whatever came to his mind at the time.

In the end of the song David sings: "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway"..the last words
so its a Genesis reference...
Of course David knew the name of the Genesis Album...it was a joke he wanted to play...David is always amazing..even in the small details.

No Genesis fan but on Sky you get endless music docs.
The one on this album said they toured or tried to an album in America that no one knew any of the songs.
