It's streaming on PBS if you have a passport account with them. I just gave them $5 and then cancelled after I was done watching.

I wouldn't say it's "high definition" but they've definitely cleaned up the footage and fixed the color and overexposure issues.

Haven't watched the DVD in ages. But the comparison pictures point towards a good cleaning and upscaling job.

from the screenshots, it looks like they just tweaked the brightness and contrast a little.

It's the same show as the one on the VHS/DVD (the HBO special). I was hoping maybe they found some additional footage and restored that as well but it still rolls credits at the end of Fame. ;__;

I wonder if the unused songs still exist. They probably do, but fat chance we'll ever see them.

Exactly.  Besides from the upcoming Moonage Daydream, where is Bowie in HD?  Maybe they were waiting until after this comes out?  After going through the archives, they must have a very good idea of what assets they have to release in HD.

Warner Chappell Music now owns the global music publishing rights to Bowie's catalog. It was sold by the Bowie estate this past January.
