I predict that one more great Bowie recording from June or July 1974 will come to light in the next year or so.

We've had some good to great recordings from that tour (and others) come to light or at least to fuller circulation, in the last decade or so.

Bowie broke America on that tour. While people with high end compact recording equipment were few and far between, Bowie concerts would have attracted those that did like flies.

As people get older and find time on their hands and old tapes in their lofts, new discoveries emerge ...

Here's hoping.

I've heard such yearnings for '74 material for the past 30 years. It hasn't happened yet and I've lost  all hope it will happen any time soon.

Well a little 1974 studio material has leaked out, and it's been a mixed bag to say the least.

The multiple takes of When You Rock n Roll with Me were interesting, though I wouldn't go as far as saying they are fascinating. Those early Gouster /.first Young Americans early takes were pretty dire - and I write as someone who loves the *idea* of hearing working takes / outtakes. Don't get me wrong - I love the pre Hunky Dory recordings for instance, and the early Ziggy ones were a nice insight.

We can all to agree to disagree on wants, however as some Soul Tour / late Soul Tour recordings have emerged (ie Sept + November 1974) in recent times, the (too?) logical part of me can't help thinking there might be further spills from June or July 74 at some point. I could be wrong of course.

Detroit "74" came out with a little Nashville "74" attached (I'm Only Dancing)
However there is much, much more to surface yet I am in no doubt,
Would love the Nashville "74" though.

Ah, I was thinking of private live recordings of decent quality.

I cannot see us getting an *official* June / July 1974 recording, no. Just checked I did put "While people with high end compact recording equipment were few and far between, Bowie concerts would have attracted those that did like flies."

Anyway apologies for apparent nitpicking - it's another 'wish' post, we can all wish for whatever we like, with no guarantee those wishes may get granted.
