Yesterday I went to the birthday party/★ release party in Williamsburg. It was at the huge record store, local bands played their covers of golden oldies from the birthday boy, plus in between ★ was playing.

It was fun, though as with ★ screening not so many people came... Well, New Yorkers don't really give a damn about Bowie, that's why he loves it here  :D

So besides music and cake there were giveaways (I won a t-shirt, but SONY gave away 3 copies of test pressings and 2 tickets for Lazarus which were taken by other people - lucky bastards! I was seriously considering mugging them somewhere in the dark later...  B)  ;). Anyway, it was a cool day and a cool new spot  :D

What a proper record shop should look like! Went to one in LA many years ago (think it was Amoeba Music) and I could've spent all day in it as it was huge!

No no no, they have a bigger concert space behind the store, it's separated :)
The spot with musicians playing Bowie covers was just a part of the store they decided to use.
