Well, I saw what I thought were two awful tours, 1983 and, even worse (for me anyway), 1987. Plus I bought "Tonight", nuff said... 8o

I gave up on him as I that thought he'd joined the usual music masses and that artistically, had 'sold out' for $'s plus life got in the way and so didn't take much interest in what he did until I happened to see and buy a combined CD pack of Outside and Heathen several years ago. I liked them (Outside moreso than Heathen contrary to everyone else it would seem!) and once I started downloading torrents in around 2010 and got to hear the 90's and 00 tours decided that I liked his later material as well, especially the 2003/2004 tour.

So, having 'given up' on him in the 80's, I rediscovered him again 20 years later. It also helped that I had more money at that point to splash around on luxuries such as buying CD's and spare plug-in drives to hold my downloaded material!! :D

I agree. One of my favourites as well as V2. Wish I'd seen him in the (late) 90's now as V2 was part of his drum 'n' bass set! :)

Heathen and Reality were happening in real time for me, Reality even more so (because I could already use internet to just get info, and also Russian MTV had more stuff about Reality when it was released, than about Heathen back in 2002). But just like for you, Outside was a revelation...
