So happy to find this site. I've been a fan since about 1981 when I saw the Ashes to Ashes video, which blew my head off and is still one of the best videos ever made by anyone. Actually, no, I heard Space Oddity earlier than that but I didn't know who sang it, I was only a child riding in a VW bug in the 70s!

I'm still in shock and mourning from our loss of the Man, but we still have our memories and the music.

I think Blackstar is his crowning masterpiece. It's so good I'm still processing it and I am still in awe of it, like all great art when you first encounter it.

My other obsession is the Leon Suites. Those are brilliant and might just be better than the album in some ways..

Welcome to BowieStation. I do agree with you on both these points. I loved Blackstar from the time I first heard it and also wonder occasionally "what if" the Leon Suites had ever been commercially released. Something we'll never know! :)

I wonder. In light of Bowie's death, I wonder if Eno/Visconti will find a way to get Leon released. After all, It'd be hard for any record company to claim that anything that involved Bowie is "uncommercial" now...

And I bloody love Ashes to Ashes! Especially the fact that Dave made the first sketch to it on the back of Space Oddity record sleeve (you can see a clown and that old woman right there, in 1969! isn't it mind-blowing?!)  O:-D
