There are also 5 finished songs that were in tended for a follow-up to Blackstar. They would have been the beginning of Bowie's next album.

Reportedly Tony Visconti is planning on releasing them as Disc 2 of a Blackstar Deluxe edition either later this year or early next year.

I think I read there were at least 5 finished songs that were left off blackstar,also Visconti's said he received 5 new demo's off Bowie they were the tracks that were intened to be recorded for the next album.

I'm assuming a box set every year will mean wait 4, maybe 5 years and it will be in the last one.
I can't believe I'm liking the 80s box as much as I do. Really, its just weird.

Apparently, Parlophone, who is releasing these box sets, doesn't seem to have the rights to anything post 2000. So that means the ball is in Sony's court, so to speak :/

It's not really in Sony's court as their deal with Bowie was only to distribute his post Virgin releases (ie, Heathen, Reality, Blackstar). At one point, Sony did distribute his 90s work... All of them now out of print and reissued through Warners/Parlophone... Depending on what the terms of the deal that David/Iso made with Sony stipulates, it would really be up to the umbrella of the Bowie estate: ISO Records/The David Bowie Archives/The Estate, etc All which are ran by Bill Zysblat. David's longtime business manager and executor of the Estate and half of RZO LLC...
