i've been meaning to ask this for a while, and now just saw the computer game soundtrack of these 2 guys - which seems to have been one of their last projects together, after having worked together closely for quite a few years. also having read the sailors journals - reeves is in there quite a bit, and then all of a sudden is gone without any further mention why.

so - what's known about their split? i'm sure some of you "elders" here must have a few clues...

Artistic differences mainly during the recording of Hours,I don't think Reeve's liked the direction Bowie was taking musically.

Never a huge fan of Reeves. Too many other great guitarists, Ronson, Slick, Alomar, Hayden, Belew, Fripp. For me he doesn't figure.

thank you goa, that is the kind of answer i was hoping for.
looking forward to the read.

i think reeves is an incredible guitar player, but he needs a creative person by his side to inspire him. i can see how he did not like the direction after "hours..." but would have still loved to see him come back for "the next day" maybe, to see what he could have added.

i just found it strange too that while everybody was interviewed after bowie died, i did not find anything from reeves.

There are lots of Reeves interviews! I've read as many from him as anyone.
