Not quite agreed, the first record in the 80's was : Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) (1980)

and that is without any doubt one of his best records.

The rest from the 80's is a bit 'shitty', for me on each of the next three records are 1-3 goodies, but his appearance in the 80's ( before Tin Machine ) was that of fed up rockstar.

But this is only my view.
