A celebration and reinterpretation of the music of the late David Bowie with the Berlin-based musicians' collective Stargaze and its artistic director André de Ridder. They are joined by guest singers and collaborators including Marc Almond, Laura Mvula, John Cale, Paul Buchanan, Conor O'Brien, Amanda Palmer and countertenor Phillippe Jaroussky, and with arrangements from Jherek Bischoff, David Lang, Anna Meredith, Greg Saunier, Josephine Stephenson and Michael Van der Aa. This rare collaboration promises to deliver a unique re-imagining of the Bowie catalogue with fresh interpretations of his classic works.

To bleedin' right Ljohnfoxx. No soul, no love, no feeling. Lady Grinning Soul is a beautiful song, not a fucking dirge. I know my TV speakers ain't the best but even on Radio 6 it sounds shit.
Sounds like a school band playing out of tune and out of time with each other. I've had to turn it off before i put my boot through the TV.

Totally agree guys what a load of crap and a total mess of Bowie songs can't believe I stayed up and watched this, got to get up at 5am [GMT] for work a 12 hour shift !!!!

It did have promise with that opening of Warsawa / STS .... I had to do shopping so went after Almond took the stage, bad choice for that old queen! Did anyone do Heroes?

Well I've got 2.13 HD & 1.32gb SD versions of this (from another site) that I'm happy to upload but I don't know how to create md5 files to accompany them. Any advice please?

Well, I've uploaded it for those who want it but tbh - and I'm not criticising it's validity - it didn't do much for me. Even Paul Buchanan struggled with Ashes to Ashes (in my opinion).


Always wary of "interpretations" - would've much preferred "straight" performances by e.g. Iggy Pop, David Byrne, Win Butler, James Murphy, Gail Ann Dorsey to name but a few.
But hey, what do I know?
Any suggestions?
