Hi All,

I’m curious as to how many of us have listened to these 360 mixes, and what you think of them ?
To my knowledge, the following albums have received these new mixes by TV,

Space Oddity (New Edition)
Heroes !
Reality
The Next Day
Blackstar
Moonage Daydream (Soundtrack)


I listen via Amazon music & Apple Max headphones, and although I can tell they are definitely different, I don’t hear them in a 360 perception, ie, nothing appears to sound as if it coming from behind as per a standard 5.1 mix. Does anyone hear them differently, and if so, what gear are you using ?

I have a pair of Sony MDR-MV1’s on their way to me, and these, apparently, are specifically made for the job, so let’s see what they offer.

I must admit, some of the Heroes ! tracks sound bizarre, especially V2 Schneider and the Sense of Doubt / Moss Garden / Neukoln sequence.

Not Heard Heroes but listened thru normal headphones [nothing special] and some of it did sound like spacial / surround. would have to listen again to see if mixes are different.

I think they are different mixes. Listening to B&TB off ‘ Heroes !’ and after the line ‘someone could get skinned’ the ‘wow’ is far louder and that occurs in a few places.

The Atmos mix of Space Oddity from Amazon Unlimited played through a Sonos Arc, Sub, and a pair of Era 300 surrounds sounds great! There are things in there that I haven't heard before in any vinyl release!

I don't know what other Atmos content is available at the moment -- although I'm sure the estate will sell us everything it can, suitably repackaged in a box with a booklet and marked up to an eye-watering price -- but the Atmos mix of the Ziggy album is due to be released later this year.

It's a downmix. This means someone has folded the extra channels and crammed it all into just 2.
