The "David Bowie Is" exhibition opened in Melbourne, Australia today and will run until November. That in itself is great. More than one chance to go and see it. The pleasing thing for me was the early opening of the ACMI (the venue) shop this morning at 7AM. Snagged a copy of the limited editon 7" single and iSelect album as well as the hardback book about the exhibition.

Some die-hard fans were lined up as early as 5AM and over the next 2 hrs up to around 30 people joined the queue.

The thing that pleased me most was catching up with GoblinKing (again) and meeting "Redsails", another member here, and Harry from bowiedownunder.com. Lovely talking with you all!

Noticed the lets dance aussie yellow vinyl is on ebay at AU $350 (£166.60) And discogs for £140
And the iselect is going for £128 to £199

Both GoblinKing and myself have been. Lots of interesting stuff there.

2 things I found a little unusual -  DB's handwriting is/was not good, and, going off the costumes that were there and being able to stand right next to them, I always pictured him as being tall. He's @ the same height (175 cm) as me . See what TV does to your perception.

just found the answer as of now, anyway (Feb. 2, 2016)

currently in Groningen till April 2016 but...

I was desperate to go but my health has failed me over the last 3-4 years I have missed gigs, holidays and getaways many at the last minute as I felt so bad - unfortunately this was the highlight for me and I never got there (believe it or not I was sedated and in an induced coma on the day of the tickets. My wife was apparently with me I don't know).

It is good to have the video and I have picked up some of the terrific merchandise so that is something.

I've picked up a few V&A bits and bobs, t-shirt, book etc. All very nice stuff. Unfortunately I had tickets for the UK but have had very bad health problems for the last few years and have had to miss gig after gig and shows etc. As I end to be read mittens to hospital at all the wrong times in different states of disrepair! We!ve stopped buying tickets until late on just in case!

I read a story about how Bowie and Iman and Lexi went after hours to check the exhibition out... That must have been a trip.

Im in the LA area, and Bowie was right - the place should be wiped from the map, but I hope the exhibition comes here.

Flying to Groningen tomorrow and visiting the exhibition on Wednesday. I already saw it a couple of years ago ago the V&A so it will be interesting to compare, and just to see everything again.
