"David Bowie intended to have the original Cat People (Putting Out Fire) recording included on the "Let's Dance" album,
but MCA didn't agree to release the song on competing record label.
So the song was re-recorded,
produced by Nile Rogers in a revamped style."

"Bowie was unhappy with the original version and asked Rodgers to remake it for Let's Dance."

Hay Prof, i skipped tru it.. thxx for the Work! But what am i listening too? A 12 minute cat people. But the other tracks are as they where released or am i mistaken?

can you give me some info bout whats different (beside that some songs arent on this version).

I must be the only person that prefers the Let's Dance version of Cat People.

I think the live version on the Serious Moonlight video is the best.

However, I still don't like the song.

someone online was adamant there was an official mix "with a roar"
it's hard to explain
but
he's talking about the movie

it's 'The Myth' track
and the uncredited looonger Australian 12''
- with the extra breaks -
glued together for a Side 1 Mix

the 1st couple of Donna Summer albums are cross between
Alec R Costandinos type records
with a bunch of more regular length tunes on the B-Side
the Let's Dance album we got
was modelled on 'We Are Family' which has the loong 12'' of that on it
not the 7''
