Bowiestation has now served the Bowie community for 11 years and a few people have contributed over the years to the daily running of the site and quite a few have donated to server cost through the years. Some of you have have donated really large amounts.

Steveboy has been the been the only person running the site for the last years due to my absence. As most old users of the site know, I haven't done much with the site for some years due to health issues, and luckily Steveboy has been here to take care of the site. Without him the site would have been closed years ago.

Until now there has been a steady help with donations to cover for the running cost of the site, but lately less donations have been coming in.

AS IT LOOKS NOW, THE SITE WILL END ITS DAYS AND GO OFFLINE IN ABOUT 2 MONTHS.

The running cost of the site is about $120/month.

As I see it, donations is the only way to keep the site running.

Ads could have been an option, but there is not enough traffic on the site to generate income. Maybe just a couple of dollars a month if we added intrusive ads for porn and scams, and nobody wants that. The site is best clean.
Another option is membership, where everything or most things are behind a pay wall.
We would need about 150 members paying $10 a year or 300 members paying $5 a year to keep the site going. I think that those numbers are difficult, and it will be more work with administrating that.

Another problem with membership or ads is that we are more likely to be taken down by authorities.

Basically this is the last call to keep the site alive, and if we get enough donations the site will continue as it is.
There is also an option to remove all the extras at the site and save some on the hosting.

The big donate button will stay on the site until we reach sufficient funds to have the site running for a year, and will probably be back when there are less than 3 months of funds to cover for the site.
