HI All

So I've been on a non-stop Bowie book read-a-thon for a while now and think I have read most of the books and magazine I have been able to get my hands on - which brings me to Angie Bowie's book....SO far i haven't been able to find it except for ridiculous prices used, though amazon users have some used hardcovers for like $16. I was hoping to buy the kindle or Epub version but apparently it's OOP.

Basically people seem to either love it or hate it and say it's a poorly written piece of garbage - but It would be nice to see what her take on their time together was. Is it worth it?

I picked it up for about 10p years ago, managed to read it all and don't recall thinking 'well, that was a waste of time', so to that extent, yeah, maybe. But I'd have to scan-read it again to say for sure.

I think this was where I first read about the 'demons in the pool' episode; if so, that alone makes it worth the price of admission  :)

I read a library copy when it came out and enjoyed it. As Teninchstump says above it it worth reading for the astonishing demon in the swimming pool anecdote alone.

Well, so far I'd the book by Nicholas Pegg is essential, because it lists EVERY SINGLE strack and the story behind it - a few are short, but the majority are multiple pages.

After that I'd say Bowie on Bowie (because it's his own words basically from interviews and otehr sources)....then Starman by Tryna....

All of the recently magazines are excellent too....all of that stuff can be found online, some people here have shared a lot with me so if you have trouble finding any DM me.

I definitely want to find backstage passes, Im really surprised it's OOP.

Alias David Bowie by Peter & Leni Gillman

In my opinion this is the best biog covering up to the mid 80s (published in 1987) & until recently you could pick it up for a few quid

Thanks SR - there are a couple in here I didnt have....

It blows my mind that I cant find the Angie books online though, I think that might be because it;s OOP and has never been official released in an electronic version (at least that is how it appears to me)....

I actually downloaded that to do it, but could not figure out how to export the files so I could use them in ibook, I didn't want to use calibre to read them in, and was to inpatient to figure it out  :-)
